The Silicon Valley Association of Republican Women (SVARW) meets monthly with the exception of July and August.  General meetings are open to members and guests and are typically held on the the third Wednesday of the month.  Check our News section for information about upcoming meetings and events.

Public Statement of the San Jose Elections Commission

Regarding the Conduct of the Silicon Valley Republican Women

The San Jose Elections Commission has conducted an investigation of a complaint filed against the Silicon Valley Association of Republican Women (SVARW) alleging violations of the San Jose Municipal Code, Title 12.  The complaint alleged that the SVARW solicited and accepted campaign contributions for a City Council candidate outside of the contribution period allowed.

The Commission found at a hearing held on January 17, 2012; that the Silicon Valley Association of Republican Women did solicit contributions for a local candidate prior to December 9, 2011 in violation of the San Jose Municipal Code.  In addition, the Commission found sufficient evidence that the SVARW did accept and retain contributions for a candidate in violation of the Municipal Code.

The Commission has issued this public statement against the Silicon Valley Association of Republican Women, noting that it is disappointed that an organization formed to promote political engagement violated local campaign regulations. 

Membership Information

Any registered Republican can apply for membership.  Membership is $25 per year and includes 10 issues of the SVARW newsletter as well as a copy of the printed membership roster (email updates are sent to both members and non-members).  You can add your spouse as an associate member for $5.  There are three ways to apply for membership:

Notable SVARW activities:

• Hosted a Liberty Celebration featuring Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack
• Helped raise over $7,000 to support Leslie Reynolds for San Jose City Council  June 2012 primary battle.
• Hosted Conservative Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers at a Patriot Party.
• Hosted a Liberty Celebration with celebrated conservative, Star Parker.
• For the 2010 election cycle, SVARW helped candidates raise over $30,000.
• Hosted "Dancing an Dining with Pete"  in January 2010. Fun Rasier to support the re-election of Pete Constant to the San Jose City Council.  
• Hosted fundraiser in April 2010 to support Larry Pegram for San Jose City Council District 9
• Hosted two fundraisers Spring 2010 to support the election of Mike Wasserman to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.
• Hosted a "Fun-Raiser" for US Congressional Candidate, Dean Andal.
• Hosted "Mimosas with Melanie", book signing event with KSFO's Melanie Morgan.
• Hosted Stars and Stripes Gala.  Guests included local office holders.
